The art of eight limbs
Muay Thai
The art of eight limbs: punches, elbows, knees, kicks, and the clinch that defines Thai boxing.
About the class
Muay Thai is what this gym is built around. Fists, elbows, knees and shins, plus the clinch work that separates Thai boxing from every other striking art. Sessions run technical and hard in equal measure, and every drill scales to the person doing it.
What a session
looks like
- 01
Warm-up and skipping
Rope, shadow and mobility to get the shoulders and hips ready for rounds.
- 02
Technique
One or two techniques broken down slowly, then drilled with a partner until the shape is right.
- 03
Pads and bags
Rounds on Thai pads with a coach, then bag work to put volume behind the technique.
- 04
Clinch
Neck wrestling, knees and off-balancing. The part most gyms skip, and the part that wins fights.
- 05
Conditioning
Core, knees and finishers to close the session out.
